Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Summer Concert

Demi Lovato and Chris Wallace wowed ’em at Penn's Landing

About 4,000 fans came out July 17 to the River State at Penn’s Landing’s Great Plaza for the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Summer Concert with Demi Lovato and Chris Wallace. Tickets for the concert at were given away via a social media campaign starting on July 2. You’ll recall Demi Lovato was scheduled to perform at the Wawa Welcome America Philly 4th of July Jam on the Parkway, but cancelled the day before because of “illness.”

I spoke with a lot of Demi’s fans, who lined up in the nearly 100-degree heat (below), and they told me that Demi is their inspiration. They told me they’ve gone through difficult times and that, through her music, they find the strength to go on. It was very sweet.

Earlier in the day, Demi Lovato hosted about 50 people at the Hotel Monaco for a meet-and-greet that was originally scheduled at the Four Seasons on July 4. That evening, she wowed the crowds (below) at the Great Plaza. While singing about 12 songs, she encouraged fans to stay hydrated and to put away their cell phones during at least one of the songs so they could stay in the present. After the concert, she had another meet-and-greet for about 20 fans.

Chris Wallace (below) is an American singer, songwriter and producer. He is best known as the former lead vocalist and frontman for the American pop/rock band The White Tie Affair, which broke up last year. In September he released his first CD, Push Forward. Wednesday night he wowed the crowds with songs from the CD, and covered Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Taylor Swift is in town Friday and Saturday for concerts at Lincoln Financial Field. Hopefully I’ll run into her this weekend and will bring you the proof next week.
