State of New Jersey Already Trying to Replace “Stronger Than the Storm”

Confirming suspicions that “Stronger than the Storm” is a terrible song, the state of New Jersey is calling all local musicians to come up with a better summer anthem that evokes the state’s ongoing post-Sandy recovery.

Here’s how it works: Musicians upload their song, we, the people vote from today until August 25th, and a winner is crowned the next day. A special concert, featuring the winner and a notable Jersey band (hmm, wonder which one of two it will be?), will take place September 7th. This makes sense: The current anthem is woefully deficient. It appears to last only 30 seconds, its lyrics were written by an advertising agency, and its music was composed by a New Yorker.
