Are The Phillies Trading Cliff Lee to Boston?

ESPN reports that the Boston Red Sox are making a push for, you know, the best player on the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phils, currently mired in an 8-game-slump and likely out of playoff contention, reportedly want one of Boston’s best two prospects in return: Jackie Bradley Jr. or Xander Bogaerts. Bradley Jr. 23, is a five-tool outfielder and defensive vacuum that the Moneyballers at Baseball Prospectus have ranked as their 27th best prospect in the country. Bogaerts, a 20-year-old Aruban, would be an eventual replacement for Jimmy Rollins at shortstop, whose 2012 Gold Glove made no sense by any actual defensive metrics. Bogaerts is 12th in the Baseball Prospectus rankings. [ESPN]
