Photo: Live Shark Washes Ashore at Rehoboth Beach
A shark washed ashore on Rehoboth beach Friday. This is an interesting fact. More interesting perhaps? That two men who found it decided to walk up to the four-and-a-half-foot deadly sea beast, grab it by the tail, and drag it back into the ocean. Here's the cell phone pic one of them took:

Delaware Becomes 11th State to Legalize Gay Marriage
Wow, Pennsylvania. You're starting to look increasingly alone when you look at map of states that have legalized gay marriage. Now that Delaware passed such a measure on Tuesday, we're virtually surrounded by gay marriage in the Keystone State: It joins Maryland and New York among the mostly northeastern states that have passed marriage equality, and even New Jersey allows for civil unions. We don't have even that here.
And why would we want such heart-warming scenes as this?
(Democratic Sen. Karen) Peterson came out publicly for the first time on the Senate floor during debate, referencing her 24-year relationship with her partner.

Biden Has Secret Gun Control Plan Obama Doesn’t Know About
Joe Biden's going rogue. He's going on a whirlwind, nationwide tour to shame Senators into expanding background checks and gun trafficking laws. It's so badass and double-secret the President of the United States doesn't know about it.
Biden volunteered that he “hasn’t really discussed” his plans with Obama and plans to lead the gun control charge, according to a person who attended the meeting.
Said another person at the meeting in question:
“He was talking like he was going to be leading it, ” the law enforcement official said. “He didn’t mention any other senators in terms of leading the charge.”
That's our Joe.
State Regulators Investigate Planned Parenthood In Delaware
MyFoxPhilly reports: "Planned Parenthood of Delaware says state regulators have launched an investigation into the conduct of several medical professionals at the facility.
"Officials at the state's largest abortion provider say they welcome the review and have made personnel changes. In the meantime, surgical abortions have been halted for now at Planned Parenthood's Wilmington and Dover offices. Officials tell The News Journal of Wilmington that outpatient medical abortions continue at both sites."
Delaware Court Rules: Ex-Wife’s Bite Really, Really Hurt
The Delaware Supreme Court has ruled that Ewelina Mrozik Kulowiec, was properly convicted of assault in a 2011 attack on her ex-husband, ruling that she really did hurt him when she bit him during the fight.
In other words, she didn't just bite him a little bit.
Courthouse News Service reports that Kulowiec confronted her husband, Nacoma Kulowiec, an Air Force reservist, at the air base in Dover after having been serviced with divorce papers. The two struggled over a gun she had in a purse; during the fight she ended up biting her husband several times. She was convicted of assault in
Hide Your Family! Wilmington Cop Arrested for Having Two Wives

*Great name.
**Yes you can.
Police say [Wilmington Police Officer Wilbur Justice*] married his first wife in 2008, then falsely claimed that he was not married on a marriage application submitted in August 2012.
Shooting at Wilmington Courthouse Kills 3
68-year-old gunman Thomas Matusiewicz killed three people, including himself, at the New Castle County courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware around 8 a.m. this morning. Two members of the Delaware Capitol Police were also shot, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The man apparently walked in the courthouse, drew his pistol, and began shooting. One of the two victims was the man's daughter-in-law, who had become estranged from her husband.* The shootings occur just hours before Delaware native Joe Biden was scheduled to appear at Girard College for a panel on gun violence. Delaware Unveils Gun Control Plan
On the one month anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre, Delaware Governor Jack Markell unveiled his five-point plan for gun control, which he's lobbying the state legislature to pass. (It's similar, but not identical to Ed Rendell's five-point plan.) Without further ado, the proposal:
1. No guns within 1,000 feet of a school.
2. Background checks for all guns (closing loopholes whereby one can buy arms from privatize citizens).
3. Mandatory for gun owners to report lost or stolen guns.
4. Ban large magazines: 10 bullet max for handguns, five bullet max for rifles.
5. Ban assault weapons.

Wilmington’s New Mayor Inadvertently Vows to Ignore Crime
And I quote from Mayor Dennis Williams's inaugural address: “We have a gun problem in this city that is beyond reproach, we have a homicide rate in this city that is beyond reproach." Look, the new guy clearly didn't mean that the issue doesn't warrant criticism--he just misspoke. (Or he's got crappy speechwriters.) The real culprit here (not beyond reproach) is Newsworks, for reporting the quote straight, and making Williams look like an ignoramus. Or maybe they don't know what the word "reproach" means either.
