Michael Vick Book Appearances Canceled Due to Threats
Eagles QB Michael Vick won't appear as scheduled at Barnes & Noble bookstores in Exton, New Jersey and Atlanta because of threats. Birds 24/7 broke the Vick cancelation news last night:
At the link, Birds 24/7 catalogs the serious threats, including one made against Vick's children.
Video: Jimmy Kimmel Doesn’t Think Much of Mike Vick’s Pet Rehab
Jimmy Kimmel on Michael Vick, seen completing dog-training courses at a New Jersey PetSmart. The photos he uses, which hilariously blur the faces of dogs who might not want to be seen with Vick, were first published by Philly sports blog Crossing Broad.
While we're here, Kimmel also lampooned a Western Pennsylvania city councilman who accidentally sent the message "Alert. This is a test. Bryan is gay" to everybody in town. The guy then tried to backtrack by saying he meant "happy." All of which helps explain why this state will not pass gay marriage anytime soon.

Report: Andy Reid Wants Nick Foles All to Himself
Now that Michael Vick is back for good, and Chip Kelly product Dennis Dixon has been signed too, presumptive Eagles starting QB Nick Foles may be expendable. Ever eager to relive those 2011-2013 Eagles glory years, Chiefs HC Andy Reid wants his man back. USA Today reports:
The Chiefs and new coach Andy Reid are interested in acquiring Foles if he becomes available, according to a person informed of the team's thinking. The person, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because the Chiefs haven't discussed their thoughts publicly, said the team is working on plans to add
We Didn’t Even Have Time to Miss Him. Eagles Sign Vick to Restructured Deal
After signaling his interest in returning to Philadelphia with a rousing "I don't know," Michael Vick will be playing (or standing on the sidelines) at the Linc for at least one more year. The Birds restructured Vick's deal to give him at least $5.5 million pay cut (he will make "up to"$10 million instead of $15.5 million.) The deal is for one year. Making matters even less pleasant "Vick does not head into this offseason as the starter, but will have to compete for the job." [Birds 24/7]
Michael Vick Will Remain an Eagle. For Now.
When Andy Reid left town, it seemed like the next train would surely be reserved for oft-injured always-embattled QB Mike Vick. Guess what? Ain't happening: "Much has been made of the upcoming February 6 deadline, when $3 million of Vick’s contract becomes guaranteed. According to multiple sources, however, the team does not intend to release Vick before then. … This is no guarantee that Vick will be in Kelly’s plans moving forward. The league year doesn’t start until March 12, so the new head coach has some time to formulate a plan." [Birds 24/7]
Why It’s Time for Eagles to End the Michael Vick Experiment
By this time next week, the NFL will have crowned the 53rd consecutive champion not named the Philadelphia Eagles. While the Birds prepare for their exciting, new world under Chip Kelly, a huge decision looms over the next 10 days.
Michael Vick’s Fund-raiser at Tashan
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Vick (Kijafa Frink) enter Tashan restaurant at 777 South Broad Street last night. The address was all part of the theme of the Philadelphia Eagle's jersey, which is numbered "7." The event took place on the 7th of the month and the party started at 7 p.m. The cocktail fund-raiser was for the Vicks' foundation "Team Vick," which is committed to supporting people in need, especially the youth.
Now with VIDEO: Meek Mill v. DeSean Jackson Rap Battle
Presenting the video you'll all been waiting for: The full 3-round, 30 minute rap battle between Lil' Snupe (Meek Mill's guy) and Retro (DeSean's guy), feat. T.I., Michael Vick, and "Eye of the Tiger" intro music. Snupe won by unanimous decision, bringing down the house with lines like "Man I be ballin', he got that fake-ass chain, look like he got it from the mall." Next up Snupe's going to take on the City Hall carolers, who'll be reprising their hit song "The 12 Days of Nutter." [Crossing Broad]

Vick to Jets, Tebow to Eagles? We Can Only Pray.
What a delicious story this would make. Tim Tebow's disgruntled and wants out of New York. Michael Vick is benched for the foreseeable future as the Eagles rebuild, and may very well be gone next season. Both the Jets and the Eagles had disastrous seasons. Don't you see? It's perfect! The latest grist out of the rumor mill has the Jets (Rex Ryan "loves" Vick) signing Vick, while trying to trade Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez, their current (backup) QBs. This would fit with the Jets's habit of signing high-profile, ineffective QBs (Brett Favre, Tebow), and the Eagles' all-around penchant
DeSean Jackson Loses 10K To Meek Mill in Proxy Rap Battle
This is how Philly's finest amuse themselves when grounded. DeSean Jackson, on injured reserve, and Meek Mill, temporarily banned from performing, staged a proxy rap battle between two of their proteges last night. Michael Vick, newly benched, was there too. The only active member of the group was rapper T.I., who just got out of jail. The scoop comes from Crossing Broad, which pieced together the story from a series of tweets.
Just hours after handing out Christmas gifts to homeless families in West Philly with rapper T.I., DeSean Jackson apparently lost $10,000 on a rap battle between a member of
