Questlove Deejayed Justin Timberlake’s Wedding
Heartthrob Justin Timberlake and smokeshow Jessica Biel recently tied the knot in Italy while Britney Spears' Ghost of Boyfriends Past tried to console her and explain that JT couldn't hear her—no matter how loudly she wailed and apologized—because she was dreaming and wasn't actually at the reception. After staring deeply into each others' souls and pledging eternal commitment, Timberlake and Biel had one hell of a party for a slew of famous guests, including Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samberg, and Timbaland. Who deejayed that party? Questlove, of course. He spun a few JT records, but no *NSYNC. Then, Timberlake sang a
VIDEO: Cartoon Questlove Is in the Hip-Hop Illuminati and Re-Enacts a Scene From Big
Questlove—bandleader of The Legendary Roots Crew, NYU professor, and cover model for our September issue of Philly Mag (let me pick that up real quick)—has been turned into a cartoon for the upcoming season premiere of The Cleveland Show on Fox. The episode focuses on the hip-hop Illuminati and includes cameos from Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Will.I.Am, and "Kenny West" (voiced by Kanye). In a clip released on the Interweb, a cartoon Questlove and "Kenny West" re-enact the giant piano scene from Big on the world's largest remote control. If it weren't for the puppies saving the lost boy with
Questlove to Co-Teach Course at NYU
Add "professor" to Questlove's extensive resumé. The Roots leader will be co-teaching a "Classic Albums" course with Universal Music Enterprises vice president of A&R Harry Weinger. The two-credit class will feature lessons on albums like Aretha Franklin's Lady Soul and Led Zeppelin's IV and Paul's Boutique from the Beastie Boys. An NPR blog post inspired the idea for the course, when an intern's review of Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back particularly irked Questlove, who responded on Twitter. VIDEO: That Time Questlove and Dave Chappelle Went to Prince’s After Party
In an animated video a la The Ricky Gervais Show, Grantland has offered up visual interpretations of the B.S. Report (a podcast). This video includes an animated version of Neal Brennan's story about a Prince concert. Brennan—co-creator of Chappelle's Show—was hanging out with Dave Chapelle and Questlove when The Roots drummer suggested they check out Prince's concert. Prince called out to Chappelle from the stage and invited the guys to his hotel room after the show where they hung out with his Canadian wife's family. Prince even offered them pancakes. The only thing that would make this cooler is if
Fake Followers Tool Reveals Questlove’s Twitter Popcorn Muscles
A new social media metrics tool from StatusPeople allows users to see how many of their Twitter followers are fake. The folks over at Technically Philly used the tool to check up on the followers of some of Philly's most prominent Twitter feeds. In doing so, they discovered that Questlove has popcorn muscles on Twitter. According to Fake Follower Check, a fifth of Questlove's followers are fake and half of them are inactive. That leaves him with only 726,000 active followers.

What did you do during your lunch break today? If you're anything like us, you probably waited in line at Nom Nom Ramen or barely managed to make it to Wawa and back before you needed to get back to work. Well, in the amount of time it takes for you to stuff your face or otherwise not contribute to society, Questlove can turn out an awesome mix like the one he made for the behind-the-scenes folks leading up the Beastie Boys' Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. He released it earlier this week in honor of the birthday

This weekend, Questlove, Black Thought, and the rest of the Legendary Roots Crew will congregate at Penn's Landing along with a host of other musical acts and tens of thousands of their collective fans for the Roots Picnic 2012, thereby kicking off Philadelphia's Summer Concert Season.
