6 ABC’s Rob Jennings to Retire
The Daily News has the eulogy: 6abc weekend anchor Rob Jennings--who's been with the station 36 years--has announced his retirement.
A native of Miami, Fl., Jennings began his career as an announcer and director before stepping in front of the camera (his official station bio says his voice could be heard in ads before he was seen in the area). Jennings spent 16 years as the face and producer of Action News Crimefighters. The segment profiled criminals, leading to the arrest of nearly 200 suspects.
Said 6abc anchor Jim Gardner: " He's been an extraordinary example of consistency, a great communicator, and a
Flower Show Isn’t Only Victim of TV News’ Wrong Weather Forecasts
The President of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Drew Becher, is ticked at Kathy Orr, Cecily Tynan and Sheena Parveen. The coven of weather women and their gangs of meteorologists cost him an atrium of money: $1.2 million to be exact. That's how much the 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show lost because, Becher says, of a flurry of false forecasts.
Diane Sawyer Profiling One of Philly’s “Most Dangerous” Schools Tonight on ABC News
With so much attention on underserved or struggling Philadelphia schools that are being shuttered, it can be easy to forget the persistently troubled schools that are staying open. The next episode in Diane Sawyer's ABC's documentary series "Hidden America"--a nod to Michael Harrington's famous 1962 book The Other America--will feature Strawberry Mansion High School. Here's how ABC is promoting the report, which airs this evening.
435 high school students beginning the year. 94 cameras. 6 school police officers. 2 metal detectors. Welcome to Strawberry Mansion in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – considered one of the most dangerous high schools in the country for the
Alas, Kacie McDonnell Not Leaving Fox 29 to Marry Prince Harry
Fox 29 traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell stalked Prince Harry during the royal Jersey Shore visit today, but alas, her dreams of becoming SILs with Kate aren't happening (for now, because, you never know, and I don't want to be the one to say a girl's not princess material). Naturally, Fox 29's Jennaphr Frederick was Kacie's winglady.
Really, this is all for the best because who needs the paparazzi constantly trying to snap you topless and hours of painful small talk in receiving lines and endless thrusting of posies into one's hands and the constant comparison to another long-haired brunette at the
Could Fox News Gosnell Documentary Result in a Mistrial?
Today, Kermit Gosnell's lawyer arrived in court ripping mad that Fox aired an hour-long documentary called "See No Evil--The Kermit Gosnell Case" over the weekend. Wasn't it likely that at least one of the jurors, who are still deliberating, saw it or caught wind of it? And if she did, surely her understanding of the case would be influenced.
At McMahon's request, Judge Jeffrey Minehart asked the jury if they had seen the documentary, which aired on Friday night and over the weekend. No members of the panel said that they had seen it. Minehart nevertheless reminded the jury to avoid

Liberal Fox News Pundit: Keep Foreign Muslim Students Out of U.S. Colleges
The Earth shook this week. Am I the only one who felt it? I couldn’t believe what I’d heard, and so I listened intently to make sure I’d gotten it right. Sure enough, I had. While watching The Five on Fox News, I heard Bob Beckel, the only liberal to sit on that panel, say that the higher academic system should immediately stop admitting Muslims and maybe even Chinese students. What? Bob Beckel said what? I felt the Earth shift. He said those who are here should be allowed to remain and finish their education but that we should no longer admit Muslim, and maybe Chinese, students because they “get an education here and then go back and hack us.”

Ryan Lochte Responds to Fox 29 Interview “Haters”
Last night in New York, Olympic swimmer-turned-reality TV star Ryan Lochte spoke out about all the criticism he received after flubbing a recent Fox 29 interview so badly that the anchors couldn't contain their laughter.
While on the E! red carpet, he had this to say: "The more known you get in the public eye, the more haters you're gonna have and that's a given. But, you know what? All the haters, all the name calling goes through one ear (and) out the other and I don't mind it. The way I look at it the more haters I have
