If you’re looking for a party to crash tonight, might I suggest the “invite-only” one at Positano Coast, where they’re reopening their 2nd floor, open-air Sopra Lounge for the season. Granted, it’s not exactly the right weather to do so, but hey, the drinks (the signature lemondrop martini is always a summer hit) and the food (they’re launching a new $19-and-under menu) are always big summertime hits, and a little damp coolness isn’t going to kill you. As for the invite-only thing, just keep in mind that this place is owned by Aldo Lamberti and the chef is his young son Pippo. Point being that Italian men (such as myself) tend to not have a problem with vivacious, well-dressed ladies hanging around and will tolerate the men on their arms. Otherwise, you can wait until tomorrow when it officially opens to the public. See you there.
UPDATE: Man, I just can’t seem to do anything right. A couple of weeks ago, Stephen Starr’s people were upset that I suggested pawning your old cans of Chef Boyardee ravioli off on the homeless. Now, I’m getting calls from the Lamberti team, who tell me that anyone who shows up uninvited to the private party tonight “definitely won’t be getting in.” So there you have it. Find another party to crash and check out Sopra another night.

Some people wouldn’t recognize a sense of humor if it came and smacked across the face with a rubber chicken. Ow it hurts! it hurts!
They should encourage crashers. Does anyone even go to Positano Coast anymore??
Thank you for the extremely useful article, most of us could make use of much more websites similar to this on the internet. Would you elaborate a little more about the second paragraph please? I am a small bit perplexed and undecided whether or not I am aware your position totally. Thank you.
