In case you missed it, Bell Beverage way down at Front & Oregon has been hosting free beer tasting events at their 60-foot bar with Joe Sixpack from the Daily News since April. And this Friday, starting at 4 p.m., they’re pairing beer with locally made Bassetts ice cream. Owner Frank Bell tells me that they’ll be mixing up beer floats with vanilla bean, chocolate, and coffee flavored ice creams and Lindemans Framboise (raspberry, yum!), Weyerbacher’s Blithering Idiot, Troegenator Double Bock, Long Trail Coffee Stout, and Southern Tier Pumking Imperial Pumpkin Ale. And, if you drag your kids down with you, plenty of Olde Philadelphia Root Beer to go around. Sounds like the perfect – free! – way to kick off a festive holiday weekend.
